"It so happened that the night closed in somewhat darkly, but for all that they pushed on, Sancho feeling sure that as the road was the king's highway they might reasonably expect to find some inn within a league or two "
Don Quixote, Chapter XIX
Very near to two extremely important historical routes, St. James' Pilgrimage Route (el Camino de Santiago) and the Silver Route (Ruta de la Plata), can be found the region known as the Maragatería. In the heart of the region, beside the river Duerna and next to the mythical Mount Teleno, is Casa Kika in the village of Luyego de Somoza.
Luyego is only 16 kilometers from exit 326 in Astorga on the A-6 Madrid-Coruña motorway. At exit 326 follow the road to Val de San Lorenzo and from there continue through Valdespino and Lagunas de Somoza. The next village is Luyego where you will find signposts to our house.
